Designed by architect Frank Gehry, Walt Disney Concert Hall, home of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, is designed to be one of the most acoustically sophisticated concert halls in the world, providing both visual and aural intimacy for an unparalleled musical experience. 	The downtown Los Angeles Music Center complex includes the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, the Mark Taper Forum, the newly renovated Ahmanson Theatre and the Walt Disney Concert Hall. The Music Center reaches more than 2.6 million people each year and is home to the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Center Theatre Group, the Los Angeles Opera and the Los Angeles Master Chorale as well as special events. The 2,140-seat Ahmanson Theatre presents both classics and new plays; the 3,200-seat Dorothy Chandler Pavilion shows a smattering of plays in between performances of the L.A. Philharmonic, L.A. Master Chorale, and L.A. Opera; the 760-seat Mark Taper Forum, under the direction of Gordon Davidson. The world premiere of Grendel will be unveiled on May 27, 2006. Israeli playwright Joshua Sobol's explosive new play iWitness is running through May 21, 2006, while the exhilaratingly theatrical musical fable The Black Rider: The Casting of the Magic Bullets runs through June 11, 2006.

	One of the largest natural amphitheaters in the world, with a current seating capacity of just under 18,000, the Hollywood Bowl in 1991 gave its name to a resident ensemble that has filled a special niche in the musical life of Southern California, the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra. As the site of a classical music festival, the Bowl has provided a showcase for the world's greatest musicians. Legendary artists have appeared at the Bowl throughout the years: Sinatra ... Pavarotti ... Streisand ... Stravinsky ... Heifetz. Activities at the Bowl are not limited to that of a musical nature. To the thousands of pre-concert picnickers who enjoy balmy summer evenings there it has become the place to dine. A special performance of Prairie Home Companion with Garrison Keillor will be presented June 2, 2006, followed by Andrea Bocelli on June 11, 2006.
