If you grew up in San Francisco, quite often it was here in the “Avenues,” as the Sunset is often called. Shopping is eclectic along Irving, Judah, Noriega and Taraval streets. Park Merced, near Lake Merced and San Francisco State University, is adjacent to West Portal, Forest Hill and Ingleside.
