FACT Cord Blood Bank
Inspection & Accreditation Workshop

This training workshop is designed to explain the FACT accreditation requirements to cord blood bank personnel and update current and prospective inspectors on inspection requirements. FACT representatives will be in attendance at this workshop to answer commonly asked questions, to clarify the intent of the checklist questions, and to assist accredited banks and potential applicants in organizing and preparing their program for a FACT on-site inspection. Current and prospective inspectors will be encouraged to provide feedback regarding the inspection and accreditation process and stimulate discussion about effective and ineffective inspection practices and techniques.
Participants will be able to:
- Describe ways to comply with the Net Cord-FACT Standards by examining how these issues are addressed in the Inspection Checklist and how they will be applied during an on-site inspection.
- Describe the documentation that a bank will need to provide inspectors prior to an on-site inspection.
- Describe the materials that must be available for review by the inspectors at the on-site inspection.
- Outline a typical cord blood bank inspection.
- Describe the preparation, scheduling ,and suggested techniques for conducting an on-site inspection.
- Describe the inspection report and supporting documents required following an on-site inspection.
- Discuss common problems and deficiencies experienced during on-site inspections and suggested problem-solving techniques.
Registration Fees are as follows:
- Applicant Facility:
Regular Rate (On or before May 9) $500
Late Rate (May 10 or after) $550
- FACT Inspector: Registration costs waived and covered by FACT.
